SO SO so excited to be starting this project. Me and my eldest are real Dr Who fans, so this is going to be so cool. I have looked and looked for the best pattern to use for this, and having just finished Eunny Jang’s Autumn Rose, I want to use her again! Delighted to have lots of left over unused skeins of yarn from Autumn rose so only need to buy some Spindrift in flax, and in Peacock as i have some Madder left. Of course i need to chart out the colour changes, but with a great basic shape from Eunny, I am sure I will get there in the end!

ok, yarn has arrived, and i have knitted up a test swatch. I am pretty happy with the gauge on this one so will look towards charting up a full pattern. I think i may actually use the ‘paper dolls’ pattern by Kate Davies as my guide though, with a little of Eunny thrown in for good measure…

OK, it is 22/5/17 and i have just ordered the yarn from Jamiesons…. need to organise the pattern so that the chart worls out ok…. watch this space…

2/6/2017 - ok, so am a bit of an obsessed knitter. i guess i am about 40% of the way through, kind of making it up as i go along…… really looking forward to getting those steeks started……

3/6/2017 - brilliant! i have managed to get up to the place to start the decreases and steek for the central v-neck placement. i am kind of playing it by ear as i knit to get the v-neck at the right level and then following on from that the decreases for the arm holes… have totally abandoned the Eunny Jang and Kate Davies patterns as reference, (they are both brilliant, i guess i have just been a bit too impatient to plan it out thoroughly). Am looking at the yarn i bought for this project (2 peacock, 5? Flax, and 2 madder - all jamiesons shetland spindrift) and think i am going to be a bit short on the peacock and flax, maybe just an extra ball of each… watch this space…

ok, 5/6/2017 - have ordered 1 more flax and 2 more peacock as i didnt have enough. that makes it a total of 4 peacock, 6 flax and 2 madder. Just need to wait for them to arrive and then do the last big surge of knitting.

8/6/2017 - DARN IT!!!!! (get the pun?) the postie came today with my extra yarn…. and i was out, so i cant get it until tomorrow…. curses curses! I will get it tomorrow, HOORAAAAAYYYYYY!!!

9/6/2017 - have just completed the body and the neckband, just the arm holes to do and then off to the bath tub we go for soaking and blocking.

10/6/2017 - right armhole finished and left armhole started….

11/6/2017 - FINISHED!!!! HOORAY. am blocking it at the moment and i am undecided as to whether i should add the ‘pockets’ (fake in my case) or just leave it as it is… hmmmm, watch this space!
Yep, fake pockets it is!

Have just added my photos of the finished article. The the photos were taken outside on a bright sunny day so the flax looked much paler than in reality. Very happy with my finished garment!!!!
