OK folks, I am going in….
boychild W desires a Tardis sweater, but OH NO, he doesnt just want an intarsia sweater with a nice big Tardis on the front, he wants one with a tardis and bow-tie yoke…..
I have just completed my own Kate davies Paper Dolls sweater in size 9, and stuck to pattern, a successful outcome, but this is me going feral!!!!!
so, i have my 3mm 60cm circular lovely knit pro wooden needles, you know the stripey chevron coloured wood, and i have my yarn, so here we go…..
colour scheme is Black King Cole Smooth DK in black for main body, the same yarn in purple for cuffs, hem and neck. not sure what to use for tardis yet as havent found the perfect blue colour which is compatible wit the king cole smooth… yet….. Finally the bow ties will be dark red, possibly…. anything could happen!
as a final little extra quirk, the phrase ‘because bow ties are cool!’ will be in there somewhere… because after all, bow ties are definately cool!
OK, finally got started last night 9th Jan 2016. The reason for the delay is that i was finishing my daughters paperdolls jumper.
so, the bottom cast on and corrugated rib is done, with Purple cast on and black main body colours…. watch this space!!!!!
interim update, have decided to abandom the bow ties…. yes bow ties are cool, but they look a bit too like bows and frills for boychilds liking, so have shelved them to put on my own tardis yoke sweater when i get round to it.
ok, it is Valentines Day, and so of course i have spent the day with my great love….. knitting! (sorry hubby, love you too!)
Since i started this project we have welcomed a new kitten into our house. I am constantly perplexed by the irony that so many people who love knitting also loved cats and kittens…. i mean really, how on earth can this ever end happily…..
anyway, despite cute kitten thinking that my knitting is the best plaything in the universe, i have managed to finish the project, so sorry for not putting updates in between start and finish.
will upload some photos of the project, including the pully at its ‘finished’ state. You will see that i have only embroidered the words ‘Police Box’ on one of the Tardii, but seriously, it is exhausting, and reall bad on the fingers. I hope you like it, sorry again for not giving more details, but i am a bit of an intuitive knitter so i cant be sure what i have done exactly. Enjoy the piccies!
