Notes

This was knit with a knitting belt.

My son needs a hat that will keep his head warm during his soccer trainings (which might be in the rain), ergo, a hat not out of this ugly polyester stuff, but REAL wool.

For his head circumference of 55 cm, I will presume 12 stitches for 5 cm.
Which means 132 sts in total.

16.10.2020

132 will be much too wide, since I know that this yarn will become sloppier after washing. Will try with 18 sts less. 114 sts then.

Restarting again as I found the tubular cast on (on one needle, not the one with the waste yarn) flares out too much for my taste. Will discard this cast on for hats now.
Will continue with Jeny’s stretchy slipknot cast on. Which feels fiddly to perform, but could work.

Jeny’s stretchy slipknot cast on indeed is magic. It is very VERY stretchy, yet springs back into form after wearing without any problem. I think this will become my go-to cast on for hats. heart_eyes
