Notes

Note:
If you plan to make these with a crocheted soil ball, it’s better, before finishing the ball, when you are only halfway through, to attach the plant - before the ball is stuffed and closed. That is less fiddly than attaching the plant afterwards.

This is for a small bouquet of succulents for my workplace.

A little bit boring to crochet 11 of these… and fiddly. But I want it to be 11 leaves, so…

I decided that I do want to have a crocheted soil ball for all of these, so I made one and sewed the aloe in place. Before, I put bonsai aluminium wire inside the arms, which makes the whole plant more convincing.

It was a bit tricky to get it into place on the soil ball - I first let a thread come out a bit off-center and attached the center of the plant to the center of the ball. Then I attached three arms all around, and then all the other arms, and then a few more connections around the middle of the plant, so that the arms all have a base and don’t flop around.
