Knitting this is great fun. It’s exactly the right balance between interesting and mindless knitting.
Take smaller needles for the garter stitch rows at the beginning and the end!!! Garter stitch takes up more space, and those areas tend to flare if they are knitted with the same needle size.
The pattern is written in an unpractical way.
An optimizable layout choice is that the instructions for the main pattern repeat are divided on two pages, the first part is at the end of page one and the second part is on page two.
There is no chart, which I made myself because it is so much clearer then.
While the pattern repeat is explained early in the pattern, the knitting instruction of the shawl is at the end of page two. This way I missed that I was supposed to knit 4 rows in garter before beginning with the pattern repeat. (Yes I have a tendency to not read everything till the end unfortunately).
But it’s a nice pattern, so… those difficulties can be overcome

I started out with 3,5 mm needles, but I restart now with 4 mm needles, because I’ve seen one of the projects to this pattern which has a wonderful airy appearance and I want that too.
I cast on 126 sts, increasing to 136 sts after the first rows of garter st, because I want to have an uneven number (7) of pattern repeats, as this is closer to nature. I will have 5 sts of garter at each end. The 7 pattern repeats are 126 sts in total.
At the beginning, I have knitted 4 rows garter plus one increase row.
I can already say that knitting this is great fun. Takes a little attention, but not too much - exactly the right amount of interesting!

One skein results in 33 cm length in the version I knit. (Unblocked of course.)

From what I weighed, it takes approx. 1 gram of my yarn for 2 rows (= RS & WS). So I should stop before I reach 8 grams to be able to knit the 6 rows garter & bindoff row.

Bound off!
Now I only have to figure out a way to block this piece, it’s huge.
Edit:
No, I’ll have to reopen the last rows of garter stitch, because I forgot to take smaller needles, and now this end of the stola flares.
Edit:
For the last 6 rows of garter stitch, I went down via 3,5 mm needles, to 3,25 mm needles. I bound off loosely. Now it has the perfect width.

Today I finally washed and blocked the wrap. It benefitted greatly from this. It now flows elegantly and the pattern looks divine.
