Notes:
- I made M for added width to the sleeves as most people say they are tight. Add 2 inches of length to the sleeve before raglan cap b/c my arms are long and I own too many store-bought sweaters with sleeves that are too short. :)
- Since my row gauge was 5 rows = 1 inch, I made my decreases over 44 rows total for each panel/sleeve so I would end up with 9 inches it calls for during the decrease.
- I made the M size for the front panel as I didn’t want it to be too small, but after holding it up and basting a seam it was looking too big! I ended up seaming it in an inch, which left me with a S front after all.
- Turns out, I think seaming is fun! Must help that I like hand-stitching and embroidery in general. :)
- It fits! Including sleeves/arms. They’re fitted, but not tight. Definitely still fits over long-sleeves.
- On the collar I did a 3-needle bind off. I liked how the outside seam looked and after trying different seams and much searching I finally found the original project page to find out how it was done. :)
11/1 - This will be my 3rd sweater, but a sweater with many firsts. First cardigan. Lots of firsts in the kinds of cables/stitch-work. First pieced sweater = first sweater where I won’t be trying it on every couple of days! So excited to get started.
Yarn arrived today, 1 skein wound (whew!) and now swatching!
11/2 - Did 2 swatches. With 10 I get 15.5 st = 4”, 20 rows = 4”. With 10.5 I get 14 st = 4”, 18 rows = 4”. So, I’m either going to knit an XS with 10.5… or S with 10… decision time!
11/5 - Finished the first sleeve! I started with the 10.5 but just didn’t like the fabric, so I ripped it out and started again with the 10s.
11/7 - Finished 2nd sleeve! Casting on front left panel next.
11/12 -Busy weekend knitting and I’m finished with both front panels! I’m putting a lot of time in, but it still is going so quickly. Only the back left to get started!
11/16 - Finished all the knitting! Blocking the back and seaming left!
