This is my first freeform attempt. My son’s girlfriend had shown me a vest on Etsy for $400 and I thought it looked like a lot of fun. I was right! I used all kinds of yarn I had on hand (that I thought I would never use, but couldn’t throw out). I pinned all the pieces onto an old sweater vest as I went along.

I’m almost finished with my second vest now. I don’t crochet much in the summer.
