I was inspired by a capelet I saw on pinterest to make this for my son’s girlfriend. She is a “fairy person.” and I knew she would love it. I had many pieces in stock that I dumped out on the table and let her choose. She picked purple and green flowers, leaves, bullion circles, spirals. I made a few more because she wanted asymmetrical to cover her “left cheek.” Luckily, she also asked for hanging moss, so I used crochet netting and fringe to add more length with less work!
Some of you may recognize the focal piece in back as one from YouTube’s Sheru Knitting. It was the very first scrumble I ever made (all one color like hers) and I didn’t think I would ever use it. But Molly wanted it, so I added color and beads.
Sorry I didn’t add progress photos here, but I couldn’t stop work that I was enjoying so much!
I guess since this project kept growing, I could now call it a cape rather than capelette. The front and right side are still shortish. :) It is now being modeled by my winter coat. My son has promised to take pictures of Molly wearing it once I pass it along next weekend.
