This was playing around with the limpet stitch that Nell posted in our ckal. I used an afghan hook to see how far I could go (like she did with bullions.) 100! I started my first strip with 15, 30, 45, 60, 75. The stitch wants to twist, so the last one I twisted before securing it, then sl st added.
The rolled up one is a strip of normal size limpets (3, 5, 7).
Other pics try to show the difference between forward loop (strands separated, more defined) and back loop (traditional, smoother look). From the top view, you can see the larger space left by forward loop vs small slit under the back loop.
I should mention that all these are made from the wrong side (back facing).
The similar motifs are back loop on left, forward on right.
