I don’t know how to name this construction. In the beginning, the logic is as in the contiguous method (increasing 1 st before and after the shoulder line in every row or increasing 2 sts before and after the shoulder line in every odd row). Once the desired width is achieved, the work is divided into front and back piece and knitted separately back and forth. Then the work is joined underarms and knitted in the round. Hence I called it Modifitseeritud (“modified” in Estonian), that is, meaning “modified contiguous”.
I am going to write a pattern recipe and do a KAL if there are enough knitters. There are many possibilities in this construction.
