2nd Shawl, 2014
3/24: This came out HUGE! Larger than the first two times I knitted this. I honestly blocked it very gently. Loved how the Turkish Lace knit stitch softened this highly variegated yarn. In person, it looks like viewing a kaleidoscope or looking at rapid brush strokes of Monet’s Waterlilies up close. It screams pretty much “Spring.” Very light and airy, perfect to wrap around my neck and shoulders.
Again, I will keep Kristen’s pattern as one of my Go Tos when I may need to knit a gift or for me because I just love the results every time I knit this.

3/23: Finished knitting late last night while watching bad, unmemorable TV. Even though the skein I used for this project (460 yards) was more than what this pattern called for and I ended up knitting exactly the same amount of repeats (7) using a US6, I used up more yarn than the last two times I knitted this pattern because I used light fingering, instead of fingering weight.
Didn’t have enough to knit an 8th repeat as I was hoping for. Ended up with 13 yards left after using a US7 because I wanted to be sure I ended up with a stretchy, loose bind off. Very happy that I pretty much used 97% (or over 446 yds) of my skein.
Unblocked: 75 in x 13 in
Wet Blocked: 80 in x 19 in
3/17: Been knitting this on and off for last couple of weeks. This is the third time I have knitted this pattern. The first two were gifts for Debbi, a dear friend, and now my SIL, using Araucania Ranco Multy 322 and following the pattern instructions exactly. Both are tall women in the young 50 category.
For this, the one modification that I am knitting this until I run out of yarn. I am currently on the 5th repeat. So I am hoping, I can make it to an 8th repeat before I start the last garter stitch border.
