I finished the bottom edging and got about 20 rows into the body and it seemed awfully large. I put it on a purl string and tried it on. I was aiming for 1 inch of negative ease, but it has 5 inches of positive ease at this point. It’s WAAAAY too big and I need to rip the entire thing out and restart.

I am getting 6 stitches to the inch on the large needles so I need to go down to the smallest size in order to end up with approximately a 42” finished size.

When I finished the decreases/increases in the waist, I somehow ended up with 224 stitches which is the second size so I’ll just keep following the directions for that size now.

There is definitely an error in the pattern when you put the front/back/sleeves back together.
At the point of separating for sleeves, it says to do the pattern through round 5 which is the purl main color row. Then it says to work around in pattern which would be the knit contrast color row.
Then you make the sleeves which end with a purl main row color. So the sleeves and the front/back end on different rows.
Then you put them all onto one needle and it has you knit all the way around with a knit contrast row.

The result is that the front and back have a knit row doubled right in the middle of the chest on the front and back.

The instructions should have said to end on a row 4 before separating for sleeves so then the final row to do the separation would have matched the sleeves final row.

I stuck in on a lifeline and tried it on. The sleeves are really tight. I’m pretty worried that I may need to rip it out back to starting the sleeves.

I ripped it back to the point of separating for the armholes, plus removed the extra row so that the body will match the sleeves this time.

Finished binding off the neckline. It looked way too huge while I was knitting, but when I put it on, the body fit perfectly. The arm cuffs are slightly tighter than I’d like. I still need to do the underarm seam so we’ll see if that makes the sleeves any tighter.

Just need to take pictures and this will be done.
