Wow! I was done, including weaving in the ends, in a couple of hours. And I’m a very slow knitter so I’m happy. I only had the cast on and bind off ends left to weave in because I used the “weave in ends as you go” method for the rest.

This was my first hat and I had no problem following the pattern. It was exactly what I was looking for! Perfect fit. Thank you so much for posting this.

October 31 - Made another one, but it only weighed 57g.
November 1 - Made another one and this one weighed 52g. I’ve got enough bulky yarn to make two more hats and then they’re off to a men’s homeless shelter. I was given this yarn so I thought I’d pass on my good fortune. Finished the 5 hats on November 3.

The 5 hats weighed 299g plus the 26g of super itchy green yarn that I threw out means I’ve used a total of 325g.
