I really, really need new oven mitts and this yarn was just sitting around with nothing to do! I’m going to knit the first 2 rounds in garter st (1 round knit, 1 round purl) so hopefully it’ll be enough to stop it curling up like stocking stitch. It worked! No rolling at all. I used doubled yarn for the mitts as it’s worsted weight. Worked wonderfully! So thick, even before felting. :)
December 26 - Yay, done the first mitt!
I’m going to make two 2 st (doubled yarn) i-cords 5” long and attach them to each mitt so they have a loop to hang from. Before felting the mitts are 15.5” l x 6” w. Thumb is 2” w x 3” l on side against the hand and 4.75” l from the bottom of the gusset. After felting the mitts are 10.75” l x 5.25”w. Thumb is 2”w x 2.5”l on side against the hand and 3.5”l from the bottom of the gusset.
December 28 - DONE!!!
Had about 8’ and 11.5’ of yarn left. I’m not sure how come I didn’t have equal amounts left.

Feb 2023 - First time for everything! After washing, the mitts are ruined. The cycle I chose on my front load washer felted them way too much so I need to make two pairs because I had the brilliant idea of washing my pair of mitts at the same time as the new ones so I need a new pair. Plus, mine were still in perfect shape after 8 years of use.
