The ninth pair of oven mitts I’ve made. The second pair for me, the rest as gifts. They work amazingly well!! I started by knitting one round and purling the second round to stop the stocking stitch from curling.

I’m going to make two 2 st (doubled yarn) i-cords 5” long and attach them to each mitt so they have a loop to hang from.

Because I knit TAAT and the yarn is doubled, I used one skein for each oven mitt.

The finished mitts weigh 218.2g.

Before felting the mitts are 15-3/4” (40cm) long x 6” (15cm) wide. Thumb is 2- 1/4” (6cm) wide x 3-1/2”(9cm) long on side against the hand and 5” (13cm) long from the bottom of the gusset.

After felting the mitts are “ (cm) long x “ (cm) wide. Thumb is “ (cm) wide x “ (cm) long on side against the hand and “ (cm) long from the bottom of the gusset.

I’m going to change the order of the colours on the mitts. There are 75 rounds plus 15 rounds for the thumb. These are made using 2 strands of yarn.

The first skein of Royal Blue weighed 82.1g - 35.8g left - used 46.3g. The second skein weighed 70.5g - 45.3g left - used 25.2g. The first skein of Flagstone weighed 92.9g - 44.9g left - used 48g. The second skein weighed 90.5g - 67.8g left - used 22.7g. The first skein of Denim Marl weighed 70.9g - 41.8 left - used 29.1g. The second skein weighed 77.3g - 36g left - used 41.3g.
