Kara wanted me to knit Brett’s best friend the same hat I made for her brother because he really likes it! She’s going to give it to him for Christmas.

All modifications are the same as last time, except, obviously, the name and number. I was out of the black Phentex so subbed with Universal Classic Worsted - Night.

The Cast-On and first four rounds of Night used 5.4g - 32.1g left.

I did a 4 round stripe of Carrot which used 3.7g - 172.5g left.

I switched back to Night to finish the 3” of ribbing, then I’ll knit 3” in St st.

I ran out of the first ball of Night when it was 5-3/4” long. Once it was 6” long I had enough height to do a round of black and orange alternating with each other, then a round of orange and white alternating with each other. I also made sure to alternate the orange from the first to the second round. I knit 15 rounds of white (11 rounds for the numbers and name plus 2 rounds of white below and above the duplicate stitch). Then I knit a round of orange and white, then a round of black and orange to match the first rounds just before the white rounds. The hat’s 9/1-4” long, 6-1/2” long with the brim folded. Now to do the decrease rounds in black and I’ll be done the knitting.

I’m done everything except the duplicate stitch and the pompom.

The ball of Universal Classic Worsted - Night weighed 37.5g. The second ball of Night weighed 97.2g.
The ball of Phentex Worsted - White weighed 271.6g.
The ball of Bernat Super Value - Carrot weighed 176.2g.
