Notes

I found a mistake after the heel increases are finished when you work round 4 partially, ending with 15 (17, 19) stitches unworked at the end of the round. This will not centre Chart A on the heel or instep stitches. I’ll list the changes to each size separately. I emailed the designer and didn’t get a response (I won’t be making any more of this designer’s patterns as I don’t like to tech edit for free AND I like getting a response from a designer instead of being ignored!! flushed) so I contacted Knit Picks and after telling them I didn’t get a response from the designer they said they’d get their design team to contact the designer, but all that happened was Knit Picks deleted the page for this pattern. Very disappointing response from the designer and Knit Picks. Corrections would’ve been so simple.

I fell in love with these socks as soon as I saw them, decided they would be my first pair of socks, and they fit perfectly!! smiley I’m in love! heart_eyes

September 29 - I got gauge with 1.75mm needles.

October 9 - I finished the 1” cuffs. Not too much knitting time right now. They used 3.7g and 3.8g. There’s 49.1g and 49.6g left.

October 19 - I finished one repeat of Chart A. It’s 1-3/4” long.

October 21 - I ripped out what I’d done because they were too small in circumference, even though I swatched and should’ve been okay, so I’m starting over with 2mm needles. I could hardly get them over my instep! face_with_rolling_eyes

October 25 - I finished the 1” cuff. They used 3.7g and 4g. There’s 49.1g and 49.4g left.

December 5 - I finished one repeat of Chart A. It’s 2-1/4” long including the cuff.

January 29 - I found a mistake after the heel increases are finished when you work round 4 partially, ending with 15 (17, 19) stitches unworked at the end of the round. This will not centre Chart A on the heel or instep stitches. I’ll list the changes to each size separately.

For size 7.5 (96 sts) - End the fourth round with 16 sts unworked.
Start rearranging the heel stitches as follows - the 16 sts from the unworked Chart C sts, then the k11, the 10 sts from Chart A, the k11, and the 16 sts from Chart B equals 64 sts for working the heel sts.
This leaves k11, the 10 sts from Chart A, ending with k11 equals 32 sts for the instep.
This centres Chart A over the heel and instep plus also matches the instructions when you resume working in the round and work the instep sts.

For size 8.5 (108 sts) - End the fourth round with 19 sts unworked.
Start rearranging the heel stitches as follows - the 19 sts from the unworked Chart C sts, then the k12, the 10 sts from Chart A, the k12, and 19 sts from Chart B equals 72 sts for working the heel sts.
This leaves 1 stitch from Chart B, the k12, the 10 sts from Chart A, the k12, ending with the 1 stitch from Chart C equals 36 sts for the instep.
This centres Chart A over the heel and instep plus also matches the instructions when you resume working in the round and work the instep sts.

For size 9.5 (120 sts) - End the fourth round with 22 sts unworked.
Start rearranging the heel stitches as follows - the 22 sts from the unworked Chart C sts, then the k13, the 10 sts from Chart A, the k13, and 22 sts from Chart B equals 80 sts for working the heel sts.
This leaves 2 sts from Chart B, the k13, the 10 sts from Chart A, the k13, ending with the 2 sts from Chart C equals 40 sts for the instep.
This centres Chart A over the heel and instep plus also matches the instructions when you resume working in the round and work the instep sts.

February 17 - I finished the socks and they fit perfectly! grinning They used 97.3g (317.2m - 347.4yds). Before blocking the circumference of the leg is 7-5/8” and the length is 7-3/4”. The foot circumference is 8-3/8” and the length is 9-1/8” long.

There’s 24.4g + 24.4g = 48.8g of Goose Hollow left.
There’s 29.8g + 29.9g = 59.7g of Turkish Delight left.

September 21 - I’m going to swatch with 2mm needles as I usually need one size smaller needles. I’ll cast on 44 sts - k2 tbl, p1, k 38, p1, k2 tbl. I’ll use the cheater’s method for knitting in the round. I stopped after 17 rounds. It was 1-1/2” long and the centre 34 sts were 4-5/8” wide for a gauge of 11.33 rnds/“ (45.3 rnds/4”) x 7.35 sts/” (29.4 sts/4”).

Now I’m going to try with 1.5mm needles. I stopped after 25 rnds. It was 1-3/4” long and the centre 34 sts were 3-1/2” wide for a gauge of 14.28 rounds/“ (57.1 rnds/4”) x 9.71 sts/” (38.85 rnds/4”).
After washing and blocking it’s 1-3/4” long and the centre 34 sts are 3-5/8” wide for a gauge of 14.28 rounds/“ (57.1 rnds/4”) x 9.38 sts/” (37.4 sts/4”).

Now I’m going to try 1.75mm needles and block them both and see what happens. I stopped after 26 rounds. It was 2” long and the centre 34 sts were 3-3/4” wide for a gauge of 13 rounds/“ (52 rnds/4”) x 9.06 sts/” (36.3 sts/4”).
After washing and blocking it’s 2” long and the centre 34 sts are 3-7/8” wide for a gauge of 8.88 sts/“ (35.6 sts/4”).

The ball of Goose Hollow weighed 106.2g. I split it into two balls of 52.8g and 53.4g.

The ball of Turkish Delight weighed 105.2.g. I split it into two balls of 52.6g each.
