Clue 1:A, Clue 2:C, Clue 3:C, Clue 4:C

I am thoroughly enjoying knitting a circular shawl. It’s been a few years since I’ve knit one. The cast on is a pain but those plain knit rows are always a joy.

Magic looped the beginning and then switched to Knitpicks 16” circs that I just bought. Loved the shorter tips on them. The join was a little fussy with the Misti Alpaca but not bad.

Clue 1: Knit option A--actually knit it twice because I forgot about the shaded rows and wondered why it was looking so weird. Much nicer when you follow the directions ;)

Clue 2: Option C. A quick knit and wish I had more to knit. Looking forward to Saturdays for more clues!

Clue 3: Option C. Started with A, but ripped back and went with C since it seemed more intuitive. Option A was driving me crazy for some reason and I could not seem to get into the rhythm of it.

Clue 4: Hmm. Back and forth between clues but settled on C (again) due to the fact that there were more plain rows between patterning at least at the beginning. Interesting to see how many more rows are necessary on some of the clues.

Clue 5: Messed around with a different border for a few weeks only to discover that it cupped when pinned out--ugh! Frogged back and am knitting on the border in the pattern now. Doubt this will be a big shawl, but am anxious to finish and start another project so I will finish it off as is. I can’t imagine doubling the stitch count and knitting rows that are over 1000 stitches to make it larger.

Finished size about 50” blocked. I will try to take some better pictures in a few days.

Yarn: Misti Alpaca. Color is an icy blue/green. Misti Alpaca calls it “Blue Mist Melange”. It’s lovely to knit with--butter between your fingers. Some halo, not a lot of “memory”. Not a forgiving yarn--runs like crazy if you drop a stitch.
