Notes

Knit as a baby shower gift for a coworker of my husband.

This is a very clever pattern with no seams! It starts with a provisional cast-on for a lovely picot brim detail. The designer also uses a technique of p1, YO in one row and then P2tog on the next row to make a really nice ridge detail that frames the lace beautifully

The only issues I ran into were at the back of the bonnet. The beginning decreases incorporate an extra stitch after the decrease. After row 6 you are not adding the extra stitch anymore and are decreasing after knitting 18 stitches. I didn’t pay attention and blissfully knit away wondering why my crown was so wide ;)

I never did figure out the decreases on the neck but just did ribbing with a size smaller needle and then bound off in pattern.

My yarn is a mixed purple/red color called mixed berry. I used 3.75 mm needles because I was using larger yarn than the pattern called for. I would probably knit just 4 or 4.5” next time before starting the back because it’s pretty deep.

I will make this one again. I love how complicated it looks but it was really quite easy. I also love that it is seamless!

The baby booties are from AdelineToo called Baby Ballerina Booties.
