Heavily modified version of Kim’s Nectar.
Started out as Nectar, but got bored with the stockinette, so I inserted lace panels, inspired by Sage Remedy Top.
Only I used very simple vine lace, which is one of my favorites - 4 pattern repeats in the front, starting as soon as the sleeves were knitted straight, and 8 pattern repeats on the back, ending just before the bra strap would show.
Changed the neckline, straight pieces on the front and back were not CO, but put on hold, then put back on smaller needles along with picked up stitches on the sides and knit in the round - purl one row, knit 8 rows, cast off and let it curl.
Spent whole evening making perfect bands for the sleeves in seed stitch, making sure they will not grow with blocking, to only realize they were too heavy. They were pulling the sleeves down, so I frogged them and finished the sleeves in the same way as the neckline. For that I picked up 90 stitches on the sleeves and 120 on the neckline. Consequently, I ruled against the band on the bottom.
I really like the simplicity of this tee as it is, the fluidity of it. The fabric is so drapey, jut like silk, and feels as soft as cashmere! It took me a few garments, but I really enjoyed working with the Bamboo Soft this time. Yes, it could be splitty, but using blunt bamboo needles was the key for me.
The only complaint I have is that each ball had knots and a couple of them were just in pieces.
I would highly recommend not to avoid 3-needle bind off on the shoulders and do as the pattern suggests. It creates a very interesting detail in my opinion.
The color was hard to capture. It’s a beautiful light sage-seafoam-gray, not blue and not straight grey. Very pretty, but did not want to be photographed :)
