Notes

Wound the warp today. I forgot to tie the cross on the last bout and didn’t notice until the first part of the cross dropped off the warp while chaining it. Oh crap! I caught the one side of it and tried to salvage the second part of the cross into lease sticks. I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt me! I think I’ll sley this bout first so if it’s too messed up I can rewind it. Crossing fingers!!!
I tried and tried but I decided rather than fight it, I wound a new bout. It’s a $4 mistake, not worth fighting with it, IMHO.
Warp: 7.5 yards for 6 towels.

May 24: sleyed the reed.

May 25: finished dressing the loom. Wove sample, lots of mistakes to fix, ugh! Finally got it all worked out and wove 35” of the first towel.

May 26: finished the first towel, turquoise green. Second towel woven in Orange. Started third one, in Lime green. These are working up fast! Ordered more white so I can add on to the warp because I am enjoying them so much!

May 27: finished the Lime towel, also wove 4th towel, in Red. Started 5th towel in Algiers Blue. Too much fun!!

May 28: Wove the last towel in Very Berry but since I forgot to add loom waste in my warp calculations it was about 3” short. (Measurements to follow).

I’m thinking about hand hemming them but wondering about the durability…

Finishing done! I hand hemmed 3 and machine hemmed 3. The last photo, red, is machine hemmed and the green one above it is hand hemmed.

Finished size is 20.25” x 33” except the last towel which is 30” long.

Gave away all but the lime and turquoise to my mom, daughter and sisters. More on the loom!
