Notes

This yarn was knit in another gansey in 2010 and I was never completely satisfied with the fit. I ripped it out last summer, washed the wool, and re-wound it. Then I designed new pattern elements and graphed them to my size. I decided to use a set-in sleeve instead of the traditional gansey construction of an underarm gusset and drop shoulder because this just suits me better, so instead of picking up stitches and knitting down the sleeve, I knit the sleeve in the round, cuff up. The body was also knit in the round until I divided the front and back for the in-set sleeve decreases.

This fit is exactly what I was looking for and I’m very pleased I took the effort for the reconstruction.
