I improvised this neckwarmer to resemble a granny square sweater (later re-assembled into a blanket) my great-grandmother made.

The last two images are of my mom wearing the original sweater (and me dressed as Mickey Mouse), and of her holding the blanket I turned the sweater into 40-ish years later.

I used various inexpensive craft store yarns for my neckwarmer, as they seemed closest to the character of my inspiration piece.

I made a polymer clay button to fasten it closed, too.
