Cable cast on.

Starting with sleeves to check gauge.

Made it through the colorwork section and thought “smooth sailing “ on the main color stockinette. After about an inch I realized I missed part of the colorwork chart. Frogged, reworked and continued merrily along. Unfortunately, I was close to finishing the sleeve when I realized I didn’t do any increases. What the heck is wrong with me!
Frogged totally and started anew on 8/12.
This sweater is for my husband’s birthday in October. I hope this isn’t a case of “the boyfriend sweater curse”!

Started body ribbing on 8/28.

After knitting about 4 in of stockinette after the bottom color work, I found my gauge to be different from the sleeves. I should have known because the knitting seemed very tight. So I frogged to the color the row after the color work and went up a needle size (11). Very noticeable. If this doesn’t work out, it will either be for me instead of my husband or I’ll steel and make it a cardigan.

Pretty close to attaching the sleeves and starting the yoke. Going smoother since changing needle size.

You’re not going to believe this. When I went to mark the front and back of the sweater before starting the yoke, I found my stitch count wrong. Here I cast on the number of stitches for a small instead of large. Is this some kind of reverse boyfriend sweater curse?!
Cast on for the body again!

Yes….made it all the way back to the yoke, attached the sleeves. Marked center front and back and counted for where to start chart B. So far, so good ! Will start chart B tonight.

Yay!! Off the needles and blocking. Not perfect but neither am I. Looks big, but it is an outer garment. Hope it fits dh!
There is a pretty large error but I’m not sure a non knitter would catch it or think that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Gifted on 10/10 and it’s about 4 inches too long! This is going to require surgery! Well, at least that’s doable. And I’m leaving it marked as finished because I love it. Will try to update but it might be awhile.
