Notes

This pattern is for mosaic crochet, but I made the blanket using mosaic knitting technique! I love the texture this technique creates slightly_smiling_face

For me, I realised I would go faster if I knitted this lovely baby blanket. I had to change / adapt the bauble height by adding two more garter ridges, to hopefully match the original one - see last photo.

The yarns I used are all 100% wool: white=360g; mustard=190g; red=80g; blue=60g; green=60g; light brown=60g, to a total of 910g.

Final measurements after blocking: 125cm x 110 cm

The toy, “Mongutan” was initially started as a monkey with a tail but ended up with a head as an orangutan, hence the name smile

Notes to myself:
How to carry the yarn when knitting mosaic in the round, see video starting at approx. min. 2’ 20” : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_LqSErsEBtg
(First round you wrap around by bringing the new colour from underneath, second round no need to do anything, just work)

For the border - corner increases: purl back then front on same stitch (purl back and front - p b&f): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TLWiooO0lxQ
