I started by making a practice snowflake, to make sure that I understood the pattern.
I made approx. 30 white sparkly snowflake centres to begin with, then I used the “join as you go method” on the coloured borders. Isn’t it always the way that you start a project, and get quite a way into it and find another method of joining that you prefer!! I did, but resisted the temptation to unpick it and start again. The pattern suggests that you whipstitch join each of the pieces. The way I have joined the pieces, it does have a raised edge, but I quite like that effect. I was methodical in my joining, so it has an even finish.
Joined 30 of them together, then another production line to make another 29 centres!
I finished with a different border that the pattern indicated, but gives it a lovely final touch.
