Notes

August 4- Finished the shell a few days ago and it fits really well. I blocked it, sewed the pieces together and tried it on before weaving in the ends, and found that I had to tear out about 6 rows on each shoulder to make it fit me right (it would have been too low/long otherwise). I also modified my version to make it more of a tank (basically I made the strap/sleeve less wide), in retrospect I kind of wish I hadn’t but I am still really happy with how it came out. The hempathy is getting softer and softer and I love the color. I will be able to wear this for years and years.

June 21- So the 3.5 mm swatch was way too big, as was the 3.25 and 3.0 mm swatch. Funny, because the Hempathy actually appears thinner, but I guess the fiber content is what qualifies it as a dk. So, now I have swatched at 2.75 mm, and it is ever so slightly looser gauge, which is what I was going for anyway. My tank should end up about 41” around …still waiting for the swatch to dry just in case!

Jun 18-I’m making this tank for myself, because I need a mindless fun project that’s just for me. I’m going to try it with the Hempathy, which I think will work well as a sport weight. I’m also using a teeny tiny bit larger hook size (3.5) mm--just swatched to see if that will make the circumference a touch larger, as a 40” chest would be ideal for me.
