This hat plus a pair of convertible flap mittens in the same colour were knit as a Christmas gift for my young niece.

This is an adorable hat! The pattern is well written and easy to follow, good for beginners.

I needed about 10 extra yards from a second ball to finish this hat. That would have been a pain if I had no use for a second skein, but a second project was already planned for it.

I didn’t make any modifications other than a three needle bind off in purl stitch.

If knitting this hat for a teen or adult, I feel as though an 8 inch length is inadequate. I’d add at least another two inches, possibly more.
