I have many cabled socks and wanted something a little different this time. Since I don’t seem to end up using the patterns I pay for, I was looking for something free and didn’t see anything that caught my fancy.

I decided to improvise these, integrating a cable design I found in the Vogue Stitchionary volume 2 and will write up the instructions at a later date.

The cable is called Engagement Ring and the yarn I’m using is grey, hence ‘Shady Engagement’ which makes me think of a sinister romance.

Like maybe a mobster tying the knot so that his wife can’t testify against him in court for his part in the murder of a rival ‘family’ member. Or something.
