I picked up the specified 110 stitches plus 5 on either side from the top of the steek sandwich.
Then knitting back and forth; the first RS row is purled as a feature. followed by 5 rows of stockinette, the RS being your Knit rows.
Your seventh row is purled again, another 7 rows of stockinette and bind off.

So on the RS : row 1 = purl
rows 2-6 = knit
row 7 = purl
row 8-12 = knit
row 13 = bind off

Folding over at your second row of purls bumps, I then sewed my bind-off row into the bumps of my picked up stitches.
Only then completing my i-cord, as per pattern instructions, on the left and then right side.Remembering to start at the the top of the right side.
