The sizing of these socks gives you far too big socks. With the given gauge and number of stitches you get socks for a giant.
I am using both a tighter gauge and less stitches.
Starting with old Norwegian CO 68 sts. First 16 rows 2/2 ribbing.

After the chart I knitted 10 rows with the main colour. The decreasing I did already on the second row.
