I was aiming at perfecting my slouchy-hat recipe, and I think I did! The hat is perfectly slouchy without looking either too Rasta-hat or like my head was too small for the hat I wanted (ie - it looks slouchy on purpose)

I loved the crown of the Fjordland hat and the bird pattern on the spring version of the Four Seasons hat so I decided to take that as inspiration.

My hat had 7 repeats of the pattern, so I did a 7-pointed star at the crown, but it came out looking more like a pinwheel or a sun than a star/snowflake…

I messed up the decreases on the crown somewhat so they ended up going right through the points of the star instead of between two points. I fudged a lot of it to get it to look the way I wanted.

I liked the chain motif of the Lotus Mittens I just finished, so I used that above and below the bird pattern.

This was also an attempt to finish using all the yarn I had leftover from the Lotus Mittens. It didn’t - now I have an even tinier ball of leftovers. :(
