Notes

Knitting with one strand fingering and one strand silk-mohair.
Swatching stockinette flat, washed:

  • 4.0mm: 19sts x 28rows = 10x10cm
  • 3.75mm: 19sts x 29rows = 10x10cm
  • 3.5mm: 21sts x 32rows = 10x10cm

Fabric gets more dense with smaller needles.

Pattern misses measurements for v-neck depth and armhole-depth.

18.05.2021

sizing
3.5mm for body
recommended ease 5-10cm, applied ease = 6cm
knitted chest circ = 96cm, my chest =90cm

notes
Body with 3.5mm needles knitted down 35cm for underarm.
With 3.25mm knit one round. Start hemline 1x1 ribbing, knit 15rounds, start tubular bind off.

24.05.2021

Right sleeve with 3.75mm because I knit more tight in sleeve circumferences.

First version = fitted sleeve.
Ribbing 1x1 with 3.25mm, on the 9th round after last decrease round, aiming for 7/8 long sleeves as a first try.

Unravelled and knitted it again to match the left sleeve.
New cuff with 3.5mm needles, beginning in round 9 after last decrease. K31 rounds, then make a 3 needle bind off with cuff folded inside. The cuff is flaring outwards.
___________________________________________________

Trying different cuff styles…

First one: With 3.5mm K2, k2tog tbl (not twisted) = 11 sts decreased -> 33sts left.
Knit 32 rounds, then fold the cuff and attach it with Kitchener stitch on the inside.

I cannot made up my mind right now which type of cuff I like best. The folded one looks very good, but is also a bit thick. The ribbing & tubular bind off looks a bit floppy.
I consider to make the same ending with Icord as I have used on the bottom.
_____________________________________________

Final Cuff on both sleeves: on 9th row after last dec, switch to 3.5mm, k16 rounds. Icord bind off.

Neckline Icord: 2.5mm needles. Picked up 1sts/row. Perfect fit!

30.05.2021

The first sleeve has a very tight fit.

Left sleeve with 3,75mm and started to decrease on the 28th row.
11 Decrease every 9th round.
K8 rounds after last dec.
Cuff with 3.5mm needles k 1 round.
K 15 rounds of ribbing (k1, p1). Then start Tubular Bind off.

I expected a much looser sleeve then, but when I actually measured it, it had 30cm circumference, same as pattern schematics stated. BUT my gauge is ca 21sts/10cm, which should lead to a wider sleeve for same stitch count - but doesn’t at all!

Why sleeve measurements in that pattern schematics are not reliable:

I calculated the size 2 sleeve circumference = 28,7cm according to pattern gauge and st count. The schematics stated 30cm. So there are 1,3cm difference.

I calculated all sleeve circs and they are all different from schematics. Just be aware. The instructions are otherwise fine.
