I’ve called this project “By the book” because I am following the pattern so closely I am even doing the same colours. I never usually use the specified yarn let alone the same colours as the pattern. As far as I am concerned knitting your own means you have a unique garment which no one else is going to have, but I love this yarn, it’s discontinued and I bought all Spotlight had left and the book that goes with it. I did the fair isle “poncho” jumper (in a different colour scheme) which leaves me with only enough red for the cardigan and the same contrast colours as in the pattern.
