oh how i love this bag. and loved knitting it so much. this pattern is in a new book i received from friend and designer of the book, Cynthia Leplar. she so generously gave me a copy when we met in Reykjavík. i used the colors called for by the designer, Védís Jónsdóttir because she is an expert.

modifications were to sew a lining instead of knitting one and i made bias tape to match for the strap, to add more strength and structure. be careful (unlike me) to stretch while you sew because although knitting has a lot of give, fabric does not.

the button is sheep horn brought home from Borgarnes, Iceland, from Guðrún Bjarnadóttir’s dye studio, a piece of leather fastens it closed. this bag makes my heart xxx
