I used the “Scroll Stitch” to knit up this infinity-type scarf. I cast on 38 sts and worked up 2 start-up rows as follows:

Row 1: K
Row 2: K3, P to last 3 sts, K3
Row 3: K3, (knit scroll stitch pattern, repeat 3 times across), K3

Continue knitting until the scarf is the length you want (mine was around 84” long), or until you run out of yarn. I used just the one skein and had about 6” left.

Repeat the first two rows for the last two rows and then bind off. Sew the two ends together using the mattress stitch.

The garter stitch border kept the scarf from curling on the edges, and after pinning down on a towel and spritzing with water, the scarf dried nice & flat so the pattern showed up really well.
