I did not swatch. Livin’ on the edge I tell you, living’ on the edge.
Hello, process. How nice of you to drop by. Had to restart three times for absolutely no good reason, and then a fourth time because I moved too fast and pulled a bunch of stitches off my needle. Dear Brain, WTF?
Also, I have not liked the way I was doing the three-stitch wraps. They didn’t look nice. So I tore back a bunch of times, trying different things. Finally (why am I so slow?) I looked on Youtube. Not sure if this is what the designer intended, but I’m using a cable needle, wrapping three times counter-clockwise, and I really like the way they look, as opposed to what I was doing. No, don’t ask. Not sure I could describe it if I tried.
I really, really like this yarn. Soft, slightly shiny, but with really marvelous stitch definition. Just lovely.
This pattern is 50% twisted stitches, and yes, Susan Pandorf, you can do that, and yes, it does look very nice, but I gotta say, it’s a pain in the ass. Eventually, I want to do the Evenstar shawl, which looks to also be all about the twisted stitches, and possibly I should actually review my life choices instead.
4/26/18: Coming along very nicely. I’m at row 75, I think? About there. The twisted stitches are becoming less irritating with repetition. So much repetition. Still like the yarn.
5/4/18: Completed row 132. So many twisted stitches, so many. I like bobbles, though, so that’s a thing.
5/8/18: Spliced in second skein at middle of row 154.
5/11/18: Finished chart 3, 179 rows.
5/17/18: Spliced in third skein middle of row 221.
