Notes

With apologies to Robin Gibb.

On December 10th, I broke my arm while alone in a strange city. I had to stop working on the Princess Shawl, but I found that, with great care, I could knit something fairly simple, so I started this. I can’t find what the color way is called, but it’s a lovely ombre. The tension is pretty wonky at the beginning of the shawl, what with my arm being broken and all, but it gets better. This is a nice, simple pattern, and I’ve done it before. It did take me longer than the previous time, too. See, broken arm.

Note to self: pack button down shirts next time you travel to a strange city, t-shirts are the very devil to get into and out of when your arm is broken.

Dear past self: thank you so much for packing materials for a simple project. And a ball winder. You are very smart. You might have remembered to pack blocking pins, though. On the other hand, Amazon is amazing.

The shawl is currently blocking on the carpet in the back hall. I had to buy towels to put it on so that there would be no risk of the dye leaking onto the landlord’s carpet.
