Notes

Summary: Using yarn I dyed with Kool Aide. I ended up frogging this to make something else, so I’m putting 0 skeins of yarn, but it probably took about half the ball. Even though it was intended as a toddler hat, it still fit my smallish head fine. It also fit my daughter in width, but obviously it was too long. Next time I will start the decreases at 5 inches.

Knit first and last together, following second method mentioned here:
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/avoid-a-gap-at-the-...

After ribbing for 1”, Make 3 evenly across hat prior to starting pattern. (91 total stitches)
Knit 9, Purl 1 for ~6 inches. Hat is too long. Next time, I will start decreasing at 5 inches. Still looks pretty cute though, although I am a little bothered by the stitch definition near the top.
