Purchased yarn for my 4-year-old son, Evan. However, I have since decided that 1. the pattern might be too girly for a boy his age and 2. He chews on all his shirts and stretches them out and would probably ruin it.

So far, I am not happy with the yarn. It is spliced together in several areas, so I will have to cut it and “join yarn” a lot, which is annoying. It seemed a little scratchy at first too, but doesn’t when knitting it up.

Update 2/2/15 - I finished the knitting on this sometime last year (it was a fast knit). However, I put it down for a long time and only finished sewing in the ends last week. The pictures are of my 3-year old daughter. It is too big for her and will probably look better in 1-2 years. I used Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off. I am not sure if the bind-off is what makes the neck look stretched out or if it’s just because it’s still big on her.

The yarn did soften up after I washed/blocked it.
