Evan’s chest measures 50cm. Knitting the 2T size in case my gauge tightens up as I go. Plus, he mostly wears 2T and I’d rather risk it being too big.
BODY:
10/2 - put arms on scrap yarn row. 1 row away from making it to this stage with only 1 ball/50g of yarn!
10/8 - about 26cm into body (from shoulder) and about to run out of 2nd ball of yarn (cumulative 100g of yarn to this point). Purled-off the bind-off to minimize curling and the seam doesn’t curl at all (although the neck does).
10/14 - just finished the body. Still have some of 3rd ball of yarn left, but will probably start sleeves with a 4th ball so I won’t have to start a new ball in the middle of a sleeve
SLEEVES:
10/20 - Argh… magic loop! I think my legwarmer with dpn looks better! I have already made a few mistakes, although they aren’t big enough to rip it back. I can’t tell if I accidentally slipped some stitches or I just haven’t pulled tight enough at each “split.” Maybe next time I’ll try a cable larger than 32”.
10/22 - Gotta put this aside to finish Emilie’s legwarmers
11/1 - came back to this today! Finished the decreases on the first sleeve.
11/3 - finished the first sleeve! I wish I had more time to knit.
11/7 - finished the second decrease on the second sleeve. So close!
11/8 - finished final decrease AND ran out of the 4th ball of yarn.
I will probably try my first embellishment (Zoomy) on this at some point.
11/10 - I finished all knitting and all finishing except the buttons! Hurray!
11/11 - DONE! I plan to embellish it with Zoomy at some point, but I have another project that I want to do first! I made a few mistakes, mostly when adding a new ball of yarn, but I learned a lot and really like the outcome.
BLOCKING:
11/13 - blocked today to prevent the collar from turning. Unfortunately the thing grew probably 2 sizes! :( I wish I had gotten a pic of it on him before blocking! I had tried it on him pre-blocking and it fit nicely, but he kept trying to pull it off. I guess I learned my lesson. Next time I will block my swatch!!! As you can see from the pics, it’s too big (for now). Should fit nicely the next 2 years though.
