Notes

Pre-washed yarn to avoid bleeding of “teal” color into the “gold.” However, neither color bleed when washed. I was also hoping to avoid the superwash “growing” by pre-washing.

Using size 6 circular for ribbing and size 8 16” circular for stockinette stick part of the hat. This is what my gauge called for after washing the yarn. I, however, ended up a little big. Next time I will wash the yarn but still use size 7 needles. Also, my jogless stripes look odd. I think I pulled too tight when switching yarns. I will have to watch that next time.

I knit 5.5-6 inches from cast on before decreasing so it would be a little longer than my last one. However, it seems a little too long and the wearer might need to fold the ribbing up. Next time I will probably still do it this long for a adult male, assuming that the smaller needle will keep it a little tighter.

If I do another “Jaguars” hat, I will do teal and black next time. I imagine those colors will look sharper together.
