I used a crochet CO.

Edging on seed stitch part of body;
a 3 stitch edging; start every row with k1, sl1 wyf, k1 and end every row with sl1 wyf, k1, sl1 wyf.
I also knitted 2 rows in garter before I started on the seed stitch pattern.
