Finally decided what kind of blanket I want to make: square style (kind of). As I just recently learned how to crochet, I’m kind of nervous if this will turn out okay…

Looked through a lot of granny square pattern but nothing seemed right. Then I stumbled upon Made in K-Twons wonderful Little Spring Mandala and voila, inspiration hit me.
Took a few tries to convert it into a single color square.

Goal for the next few weeks: crochet 80 Squares, using 10 different colors.

52 squares finished, 28 to go.

02/10/13:

All 80 squares are finished. It’s time to hide all loose ends …

All squares are joined together (used the slip-stitch-method described here: http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/joining-granny-sqaures....).

Border:
Base round (color: linen): sc - 3sc in corner stitch
Round 1 (color: linen): dc - 5 dc in corner stitch
Round 2 (color: pink): dc, ch 1, skip 1 st - dc,ch1 three times in corner stitch
Round 3 (pink): sc in ch-space of round 2, ch 1 - sc,ch3,sc in corner space
Round 4 (green): 2 dc in every ch-space of round 3 - 5 dc in corner space
Round 5 (linen): dc2tog, ch 1, skip 1 st - dc2tog, ch 3, dc2tog, ch 1 in corner stitch
Round 6 (linen): 2 sc in every ch-space - 5 sc in corner space
