The only changes I made to that original pattern was that I made the ribbing on the bottom and the sleeves about 2” long. I wanted his mommy to be able to roll the sleeves up and down so that he could get more wear out of it. I“m happy with the turnout. :) Oh! And I knit the sleeves flat because I hate knitting tiny things in the round and then I seamed them with a crochet slip stitch. It looked very neat and tidy when I was done.
