12/25/2010: Picture with my daughter wearing her tank is up! I LOVE IT!
12/18/2010: The sleeves were too small for the armscythe, and since I knitted both together on circs, I really wasted a ton of time on this… GRR! I bailed and just did the purl finishing that was in the pattern. The hips flare out a LOT but I’m hoping they’ll be OK. It got sent off to my daughter yesterday; I’ll post a finished photo if she sends me one!
12/9/2010: Finished the main tank yesterday and blocked it (see photo). I had lots of yarn left over, so I’m using the instructions from White Lily for adding sleeves to their Shapely Tank to make a tee shirt (http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/lpullovers/fbdpr...). I added about two inches to the waist, and still think it could have been longer. Still love this yarn!
11/27/2010: Been working on this all week, feels like it’s slow going. I think I’m about halfway done, it’s about 11” long. I think the bottom might be a little too wide, but there’s not much to be done about it right now. The fabric is beautiful and feels lovely.
11/20/2010: Got close enough to gauge with 4s, casting on tonight! I’m not thrilled with how different the skeins are from each other, but I’ll be alternating skeins anyway to avoid pooling, so hopefully it won’t be too strange. Loved the way this color knitted up in the gauge swatch, but since I’m kinda cutting it close on the yardage, I frogged it to use in the project.
Later that night: Well, I could tell that those loooong purl rows were gonna drive me cuckoo, so I followed another Ravelist’s lead and rewrote the pattern to go in the round (I can’t follow recipes, either). Love this yarn! With 4s, it’s going to be a nice dense fabric, not airy like some folks were finding with their tanks.
