Oct 13- Finished a few days ago, felted, and it’s finally dry. The boy likes it!

If I did it over again, I would hand felt it to keep the braids from felting as much as helmet and beard. They are more dread lock than braid now, and I think he liked the braided look. But check out the real Gimli- he’s pretty scruffy, so I think it’s ok.

I only washed in warm water on slow agitation for 5 minutes since it almost fit him before felting. Now it is a perfect fit. This was a fun way to break up sweater monotony and make a little boy very happy.

Oct 4- I cast on 89 st for a boy’s head and plan to do a bobble detail along edge of helmet. I’ll just play with the seed stitch bands of 8 as I decrease, interrupting the seed st. pattern when I have to.
