I can’t say how much I love this, it’s beautiful and the beads add a really pleasing weight to the cobweb. The colours on the yarn are absolutely stunning and my photos do not do the whole thing justice.
Final size is approx 2m by 0.5m
Finished and blocking!
1 Jan - nearly finished, just the garterish edging left - I’m already planning another one!
Picked this up again on 27 Dec, I can’t believe I left it so long. I’m motoring through the second half, nearly completed the beaded mesh. As I was working through the transition charts it struck me how clever this pattern is, it would have been easy for the designer to just do a straight transition instead of the gradual one but instead every step is charted (I found some extra concentration was required for these charts) and the end result is stunning.
First half completed with a beaded crochet cast-off - I’m hoping I haven’t overdone the beads, around 60g of yarn left.
I beaded the decreases on the triangles and am also beading the “stems” on the fans.
Seven repeats of Chart F complete and moving on to garterish band and border. I used beads in the mesh, beading the middle stitch of the double decreases before I worked the decrease.
Up to six swag repeats on the first side, I’m going to do one more and then start the mesh.
Going to make the large size, yarn isn’t quite as variegated as it looks, the colours seem to blend together to give a sort of autumn look.
Cecilia and an Asa Tricosa pattern - a match made in heaven I think
