Someone told me that Fiori di Sole means flowers of the sun, in other words SUNFLOWERS! The color of the yarn I am using is of the faintest pink, more of a blush. Hence the title of this project - the Blushing Sunflowers.

I have started this gorgeous shawl few days ago, right after I finished the Amille. I am in lace knitting mode!!!
This pattern is rather simple, but very effective. I don’t always want complicated lace. In fact, the more i knit lace the more I realize that too busy a pattern is not always the best.
The yarn is just pure silky luxury. And, ohhh… the color! how can I describe it? It is a pearly blushing cream, very subtle and elegant.
I have 2 skeins of it and this is what I am listing here for now. I am sure this shawl will not take as much. I will adjust the amount once i finish.
I am knitting this shawl in hope that my future daughter in law - Noelle - will like it.
I am using size 1.5 needles - much smaller than recommended size 4.
So far I have completed 2 repeats of the body chart. I am not sure yet how many repeats i will end up knitting.

I completed 7 repeats of the body chart - Chart E. The pattern recommends 5 repeats, but since i am using much smaller needles I was worried that my shawl would come out too small.

I am finally working on the border. Did chart E yesterday and now I am working on chart G.
Adding size 8 beads from FusionBeads.com number SB5473. Using size 10 (1.3 mm) crochet hook for beading.

Finished binding off!!!!! I am using crochet hook size 4 and doing only chain 8 loops. The loops will be a bit smaller than recommended, which is what i want. I do not like the crocheted loops at all, but at this point I do not feel like experimenting with another bind off.
Unblocked the shawl measures roughly 66” wide x 26” deep. I have used almost the entire skein and have only 2.4 g left - 23 yards. But do have another full skein of this yarn.
Bloced it measures 72” wide x 36” deep.
