This yarn has been in my stash forever. Same for the pattern. I came across both just this morning while looking for something suitable for a light weight sweater. The sweater has not been addressed yet, but i just started this cowl.
Now… I am not a cowl person. I have knitted only a couple of cowls before. I prefer scarves. But this one is not just another cowl. The yarn has this magical depth to it… i can’t even describe it. It is perfect for the simple slipped stitch, which is what this pattern uses. Very simple, yet very effective.
I am not even sure if this will end up in my wardrobe, or will it be gifted.
My husband and I are soon going to Nashville for town for the Thanksgiving Holiday. This project will be perfect for the long drive. Of course, I will take several other projects with me.
Cast on 201 stitches (the extra one is for joining in the round). The cast-on and 4 plain knitted rows took 2 g of yarn. I will need this information later, when finishing the cowl.

I ended up making it a little narrower. I have 22 g of yarn left, which amounts to about 50 or so yards. This is because the cowl was already a bit too bulky for my taste. Folded, it measures 22.5” wide and 8” high. when worn wrapped double around the neck it comes all the way to my chin, which is just right.
